渋谷にて上映会 & 交流会開催！映画『KITAーSabah Celebrating Diversity』

2023年4月30日（日）、東京・渋谷にて、ボルネオ島・サバ州の多様性を描いたドキュメンタリー映画『KITA – Sabah Celebrating Diversity』上映会、ならびにサバ州のアーティスト集団 Pangrok Sulap との交流会を開催します！ ※詳細、申し込みフォームは下記より。定員わずかですので、申し込みはお早めにぜひ。

　ボルネオ島北部に位置し、豊かな自然を誇るサバ州にはさまざまな少数民族が暮らし、魅力あふれる多様な文化の宝庫となっています。

　映画『KITA』は、サバ州の文化的多様性を尊重し、祝福し、継承していこうとするサバの人々の現実、価値観、願いを映し出したオリジナル・ドキュメンタリー映画です。サバ州出身の監督をはじめ、地元クルーによって製作された1時間45分のドキュメンタリーは3部構成で、10人のごく普通のサバ人の実生活を追い、彼らの視点を通して、観客はサバの多様な社会の「強さ」「美しさ」「おいしさ」を体感することができるようになっています。タイトルの「KITA」とは、マレー語で「私たち」という意味です。

　今回の上映会には、映画にも登場するサバ州のアーティスト集団 Pangrok Sulapのメンバーがゲストとして参加予定です！サバ州の村々を訪れ、さまざまなコミュニティとともに木版画をツールに歴史や文化の掘り起こしをするなど、国内外で注目を集めているPangrok Sulapの活動について語ってもらう交流会も企画中です。

アーティスト集団 Pangrok Sulap

2010年にサバ州ラナウで結成。「Jangan Beli Bikin Sendiri（買わずに、作ろう）」というDIY精神をテーマに活動するアーティスト集団。木版画をツールにサバ州のコミュニティの歴史や文化の掘り起こし、先住民族が直面する問題を描き、メッセージを発信している。近年は、インド、オーストラリア、台湾などの国際芸術祭に招待されるなど、世界中のアートシーンでも注目を集める。 2019年には、国際芸術祭「あいちトリエンナーレ」に招待作家として作品を出展。

【KITA – Sabah Celebrating Diversity】is a FINAS (The National Film Development Corporation Malaysia) funded documentary film about Sabah’s diverse society, produced entirely by local crews in collaboration with Sabah Unity in Diversity Community Partners (SUIDCP, www.suidcp.org). The entire production took nearly two years to complete, including 10 months of shooting throughout 15 locations in Sabah and Kuala Lumpur.

Synopsis: An original and locally produced documentary film about the realities, values and aspirations of Sabahans in embracing, celebrating and preserving cultural diversity in Sabah. This 1 hour 45 minutes documentary consists of three separate but yet interrelated sections, following the real life stories of 10 ordinary Sabahans and through their lenses the audiences experience the “strength”, “beauty” and “deliciousness” of Sabah diverse society. “KITA” is the Malay language for “Us”.
